The Bookshop focuses on having a good range of Bibles and core stock of books for children and Christian Living books.
We receive 2nd-hand books as donations to re-sell to continue our work of keeping Christian books available on the high-street.
A special-ordering service is available for hard-to-get books and non-core stock items. Please text or WhatsApp your enquiry to 0879984424.

Our Background

Footprints Bookstore was located on Convent Road in Dun Laoghaire from 2015 to 2024, as a Christian retail bookstore, under two different owners. The bookstore had Bibles, books, CD’s and greeting cards. They also offered a special order service to order hard-to-get items and books that were not usually in stock. They had seasonal products in store for Christmas, Easter and special occasions such as Christenings, Communions, Confirmations and Baptisms.
The previous owner prepared for retirement and sought for someone to buy the business from him. In 2022 it came down to the wire and a buyer agreed to buy the business in order to keep the bookstore open as they believe the ministry of Christian books is vital for people of faith.

Scripture Union Ireland began having a bookshop ministry in the 1980s. From there the first offices and bookstore was in the present-day Epworth Centre, when it opened in Northumberland Ave in Dun Laoghaire in Epworth House which was 2 reception rooms, next door to the Methodist Church.

In 1988, SU decided to move to a bigger premises on George’s Street but before they moved, there was a fire in Epworth House and the contents of the shop were discarded or were sold off as fire damaged. The shop moved to George’s Street and was there until 2015 when it was moved to Convent Road.

Around 1990 the SU Book and Music Centre on Talbot Street was opened along with Footprints Cafe. In 2005, the bookshop was temporarily relocated while a new bookshop was being built under the rail bridge on Talbot Street.
The new bookshop adopted the name “Footprints” and was opened in 2008.
In 2012, the bookshop business was sold to a sole trader and was there until 2016 when it was relocated to Dublin 8 where it served as a 2nd-hand Christian bookshop.
This bookshop now continues in Dorset Street Upper since November 2024.
